I’m a 22 year old college grad about to live abroad for my first year post-grad and I’m starting a blog. I’m cringing at the horrible cliché. I put off starting this blog for quite a while. Everyone starts a blog when they study abroad or do an exotic internship (heck, I blogged about both those things) and a fun travel-log quickly becomes full of their under-developed existential ideas about life. I know. I’ve been there. Perhaps I am there.
So here I am. I want to vow to be authentic. On one hand, I run the risk of romanticizing my adventures and being overly personal. On the other hand, I could be too distant and appear cold. In an effort to be honest, open, and at least a little bit interesting, I want to share pieces of all aspects of my world this coming year. What it looks like and feels like. The people joining me on the journey. How I come to understand God in surroundings very much unlike my undergrad world. My blog title comes from the fantastic Lawrence Fish quote,
Travel. Meet many people. Go down some dead ends and explore dark alleys. Try everything. Exhaust yourself in the glorious pursuit of life.”
May this year be one of traveling, meeting new people, trying new things, and gloriously pursuing life.
