Eating My Way Through Italy

My trip to Florence has been everything I could’ve hoped. I’ll write about the beautiful places I’ve visited later, but for now, I am loving Italian food! The most wonderful part of my trip has easily been the people I’ve gotten to spend it with, but the food is a close second.

I’ve been eating more than my fair share of pasta, pizza, gelato and schiacciata sandwiches.

And today I learned a fun fat that Italians don’t actually eat spaghetti and meatballs! As a friend explained to me yesterday, pasta is a first course and meatballs are a second course. Putting tomato sauce on meatballs is an American invention.

Its probably a good thing I chose to spend my year in France and not Italy because I’d gain 500 lbs from all these delicious carbs! (Although… who am I kidding? All I eat in France is carbs too…)
